Kenny Cash Producer Engineer Composer and Owner Of Norwalk CT Music Recording Studio Factory Underground Launches New Website

Factory Underground Owner, producer, recording engineer, composer of music for film, Kenny Cash has launched a new website featuring his latest work.  www.KennyCash.com

Kenny Cash of the Factory Underground Studio is a versatile and artistic producer-musician. Leading the way in Hip Hop, Electronica, Alternative, Rock, Soul, Pop, and Classical--there is little ground left unbroken by Kenny Cash. Very few producers can boast of Cash’s multitalented reputation: he is known as a beat master in the Hip Hop world, a remix extraordinaire in the EDM genre, and even had a Billboard charting classical album in the same year that his rock-EDM remix was being considered as the theme song by the U.S. Olympic team.

It should come as no surprise that Kenny Cash was granted a scholarship to the world-famed Berklee College of Music, where he mastered the electric bass, acoustic and electric guitar, and learned to play the drums, keyboards, and clarinet. Also no surprise--that his advanced studio skills are purely self-taught.

In 2009, Cash opened the Factory Underground Studio in Norwalk, CT, alongside business partner Ethan Isaac. “The Factory,” a state of the art recording facility, is where Kenny Cash was finally able to center his artistry. The Factory's cool New York vibe, professionalism, and talent pool quickly began to draw in artists from all over the Northeast and beyond. And through all of this, Cash’s own creative output has thrived.

He has worked with award-winning mix engineer Ron St. Germain, heavy metal/EDM artist Sid Wilson of Slipknot, and alternative rock group Edisun. He has earned his stripes in the Hip Hop world by producing for Fred the Godson, CanibusChino XLCory Gunz, Cappadonna, and Babs Bunny (Making the Band), and earned praise from Hip Hop legend KRS-One. Other clients have included SRG/Spotify, SONY, and Universal Music Group. Most recently, Cash has had the pleasure of engineering and mixing for guitar legend Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Anuhea, Poppa Chubby, and Davina and the Vagabonds. Cash also co-writes alongside his wife Laura in their writing duo under the name Che-Val, with a single “My Beat” hitting #52 in the top 40 radio chart. Cash has music placed in a variety of TV networks including MTV, Oxygen and E and is signed non-exclusively to multiple licensing companies including Music Box and Atrium Music.

After only three days on the site, Che-Val tracks downloads have skyrocketed with all signs pointing toward massive growth potential. "This is very exciting for us," said Laura Cash. "I come from a dance-music background, and Kenny is an incredible remixer himself - for DJs and other remixers around the world to be adding our songs to their collections, that's a huge feeling of accomplishment for us."

"We feel like the next piece of our process is to start collaborating with other artists and DJs. We want to hear their interpretation of our music. It’s like hearing a story you love from a completely different perspective. It opens your eyes and ears to something entirely new and inspiring and takes you somewhere you may have never planned," Kenny says.

Kenny Cash, whose music career started in the practice halls of Berklee College of Music where he attended on a full scholarship, had already established a diverse catalog of recorded material by the time he met Laura, an artist who came to record at his Norwalk, Ct Factory Underground Studio. "When we first started dating--Kenny said, "Just so you know, my music is always going to come first!  I laughed but I really respected that. It's what we had in common. It struck me how creative and dedicated he was to his music, and it was a perfect mix from the beginning." The two were married in 2011.

The couple's album "Waterproof" is their first record under the name Che-Val, which was inspired by an over-sized framed mirror the couple fell in love with early in their relationship. "We had been writing and recording material that was a mix of Kenny's growing interest in mixing electronic textures with organic orchestral instruments. I found that mix of styles really worked with the songs I was writing."

CHE-VAL REVEALS COVER VERSION OF BRIAN WILSON - BEACH BOYS "PET SOUNDS" MASTERPIECE "GOD ONLY KNOWS:" TRIBUTE TO MUSICAL MENTORS AND PARTNERS PAST AND PRESENT.

"GOD ONLY KNOWS" TO BE INCLUDED WITH NEW CHE-VAL "WATERPROOF" SLATED FOR APRIL 2016 RELEASE.

LAURA CASH OF CHE-VAL

In a surprise move last week that delighted its deeply loyal fan base, indie pop duo Che-Val released an cover version of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson pop music masterpiece "God Only Knows." The song which has been licensed for CD and digital streaming will be contained in the new Che-Val album "Waterproof" coming in April.

This "reimagined cover..is our tribute to all our friends and family, as well as musicians we have worked with past and present, because truly God only knows where we would be without them," said Kenny Cash, Che-Val member and producer. The artist published a full list of these people in his social media. "I usually don't like when people tag me on Facebook in connection with music I'm not a part of--but I tagged everyone on this list--because I wanted to give credit where credit is due," he said.

Unlike the original arrangement of "God Only Knows," which was part of the Beach Boys pop masterpiece "Pet Sounds," considered by many to be a recording masterpiece on par with the Beatles "Sgt Pepper" album, the Che-Val version uses a completely unique arrangement devoid of all acoustic instrumentation. In fact, the only instrument on the track is a Korg MicroKORG Synthesizer Vocoder, which Kenny Cash used to electronically filter the what is otherwise an entirely "a cappella" version of the song.

"Kenny and I love the original song-- one of these beautiful places where our diverse musical tastes really come together," Laura explained. "The melody, the lyric, the harmony, the arrangement and the deeply touching emotion--all so complex and gorgeous. We wanted to do this song for a long time--but we had to find a way of making it uniquely our own. I just hope our version does some justice to Brian Wilson, an artistic genius Kenny and I deeply adore."
